At Chime, we understand it can be tough when you are expecting to work a certain time, or amount of time, and then suddenly that changes.
When this happens, we encourage you to still keep the booking if you can. Often, seeing a booking through can build a great trusting relationship with the family moving forward, and could lead to you getting further bookings!
Here is what to do if a parent needs to change the booking time:
- If the booking time has shifted outside of your availability
If the booking time has shifted outside of your availability, we encourage you to still complete the booking if possible. If you simply cannot, please reach out to us to cancel the booking. We will excuse it.
- If the booking time has been shortened, but is still within the original booking window
If the booking time has been shortened, but is still within the original booking window, the expectation is that you'll still complete the booking. This is a natural part of working as a babysitter. We believe that when a sitter agrees to help a family, and the booking is altered based on the family's needs, it's still the sitter's responsibility to be there for the family. You can still cancel, but it will be held against your reliability. Please read more about our Sitter Attendance Expectations here.
